Urban meets Japanese
Two cultures that I love is the urban culture in the streets of New York and the streetstyle culture of Japan. When I dress I like to incorporate things that usually don't mesh together in the same outfit to create a juxtaposition. It makes the outfit a little ambiguous and makes people think about the individual aspects of the whole of the outfit.

Day
Today on New Year's Day, I had a free day to spend time with my dad doing errands in the city. We also did a teensy bit of shopping and browsing as well, as per usual when it comes to me. We first went to the Flatiron District to check out some things at Nike and do a little investigating on some job stuff. Then we headed down to Soho to Nike Lab to do more job stuff as well as the usual perusing of beautifully made clothing. Nike Lab itself may be small, but its interior design makes a huge statement. The light fixtures, mirrors and glass droplets that hung from the ceiling make the room have an ambiance that screams luxury sportswear. I wish I brought my camera so I could have snapped the place for you but it was so crowded inside that the picture would just have been inundated with people in the photo.
But hopefully, fingers crossed, this "job stuff" I've been talking about comes true, you'll be seeing a lot more Nike or even Nike Lab on the blog.

Egg Shop
This morning I went to Egg Shop with a very good friend of mine to catch up and have some birthday drinks. Yes, it is the a.m., but who says I can't have a mimosa? Also it wouldn't be complete if we did not order an overwhelming amount of food that does not fit the small table we were seated at. It feels so New York to do breakfast at a place called Egg Shop, which has everything an assorted egg an "egg shop" would need. Of course, being the fashion person that I am, I had to order the avocado toast because 1. avocados are everything and 2. wouldn't they photograph so well on Instagram? The vibe of the whole place is very homey and the food is timely, flavorful and well presented. The staff are friendly and have good personality. If you are an egg eating human being, I would definitely check out Egg Shop.
P.S. Of course I had to dress up for breakfast so here is also my outfit. Details will be listed below.

Streetstyle mode: Coat on the Shoulders
As fashion people, we read online magazines, news forums and blogs about streetstyle. It starting becoming this hot topic only a couple of years ago by their pioneers such as Tommy Ton, Phil Oh and Scott Schuman. As the years progress people in fashion, who typically would not dress for other people, but themselves, started getting more creative with their looks to get photographers' attentions. One trend that made its trademark, especially in fashion week (doesn't matter the season) is the sophisticated I-delicately-put-a-coat-on-my-shoulder look.
Lets be real here, it may look sophisticated, elegant and fashion forward, but boy is it hard to get in and out of cars still steadying the coat on your shoulders. Let's not even talk about reaching for things. The whole coat on shoulders look science was specifically made for going to a fashion show, getting photographed and sitting down. And number one rule in rocking this trend, don't fuss with your coat! It ruins the whole enigma of how you can balance a clothing item on your shoulder without looking like you've tried too hard.

Creative Meeting Attire and Greecologies Review
As a creative, I dress myself to express my individuality. But there are times when, even as a creative, one must dress appropriate for the occasion. Taking an example out of my daily life, I had a meeting for an upcoming photoshoot that I will be apart of and I had to dress for, not only the location, but also for the individuals attending the meeting. Even if it is your good friend, it is better to dress well and professional to show that there is a level of professionalism.
Since it is a creative meeting amongst friends, I dressed myself polite enough so that if onlookers were watching, that they would know we meant business but at the same time kept my flair and sense of style in the game. If you want a look book on professional outfits to wear to the office, while still looking stylist, I am more than happy to do a post specifically on that topic. Just leave a comment down below, I am all ears.
On a different note, the cafe in which I had my meeting was simply divine. The name of the place is called Greecologies and they serve greek style yogurt along with something called butter coffee, which I had to order. I ordered the Maca butter coffee, which I thought was very rich, buttery (of course) and flavorful. For those who like creamer in their coffee, try butter coffee. Literally no creamer needed, its fatty enough I promise. If you're ever in Little Italy in New York, go and have a look.

Thinking of you...
Hey everyone, if you didn't already know, I temporarily moved to my home country of Thailand for a short period of time. I'm loving living here but I can't help but think of home, New York. I don't have my photographer and my full wardrobe here, which means that I can't work to the fullest, and that makes me feel like I'm just sitting around doing nothing. I keep reminding myself that I will be back in NYC and working on this blog in no time. Expect many a post when I get back to the States because I will be back in the swing of things. In the mean time, I will sit back and enjoy a coconut water.
