About that...

Hello my friends, its been a hot minute since I have sat down to write on this platform. I've been gone for a while and there has been so much going on in my life that it would take another paragraph to explain so I will spare you the torture.
I'm back though and I will still be doing the good ol' oh oh tee dee's but I will also be doing more photography posts as well. I even created a new instagram handle for my shots called: urbannotoriety.
If you like the follow shots that I have included in this post, go on over to IG and give my page a follow (shamless plug). But really, I'm really proud of the work I did and I really want to share it with all of you.
So if you don't mind, more photoshoots and photography posts will be coming on this blog as with regular schedule programming.

DIY: Room Renovations

Hey everyone, hope you've all been well. I know I haven't been active on the blog for many a week. I have been so busy with job hunting and renovations that it had taken over my life for the past couple of weeks. The good news is that I got my dream workplace and am going to start working very soon and my room renovations are almost done.
Let me tell you a little about my room. I have the master bedroom and it is about the size of a small New York City apartment. It is very large for a bedroom to say the very least. The story behind my room was that my whole family used to sleep in this one room until, dad, mom and sister decided that they wanted their own rooms. So I, by default, ended up with the biggest bedroom in the house.
Right now my room is in the works and my clothes are temporarily living on clothing rails and shoes on a book shelf, waiting for my wardrobe, which is the Pax system from IKEA, to come. Then I can finally have an organized place to put all of my clothing, shoes and accessories.
My vanity area also needs a revamp because right now I am using a vintage vanity that is over 30 years old. It is quite out of date and does not fit in with my style, but it still serves its purpose well. I plan on looking for some vanities that fit the crisp clean aesthetic that I like very soon.
Lastly my desk, which is a glass top with metal frame, needs to be moved from where it currently is to a more suitable place. I plan on getting rid of some furniture (yes my room is big enough to have furniture in it) and moving my desk into that corner of the room.
Some parts of my room, there can't be anything done since the people before, installed things that were custom to the space, which, to uninstall and custom make, would cost a fortune. And I don't plan on living in this place for much longer since my work and life is in the city.
If you want updates on my wardrobe and possibly a closet tour, let me know and I will post something related to room renovations and interior design/decorating soon.

Urban meets Japanese

Two cultures that I love is the urban culture in the streets of New York and the streetstyle culture of Japan. When I dress I like to incorporate things that usually don't mesh together in the same outfit to create a juxtaposition. It makes the outfit a little ambiguous and makes people think about the individual aspects of the whole of the outfit.

Day

Today on New Year's Day, I had a free day to spend time with my dad doing errands in the city. We also did a teensy bit of shopping and browsing as well, as per usual when it comes to me. We first went to the Flatiron District to check out some things at Nike and do a little investigating on some job stuff. Then we headed down to Soho to Nike Lab to do more job stuff as well as the usual perusing of beautifully made clothing. Nike Lab itself may be small, but its interior design makes a huge statement. The light fixtures, mirrors and glass droplets that hung from the ceiling make the room have an ambiance that screams luxury sportswear. I wish I brought my camera so I could have snapped the place for you but it was so crowded inside that the picture would just have been inundated with people in the photo.
But hopefully, fingers crossed, this "job stuff" I've been talking about comes true, you'll be seeing a lot more Nike or even Nike Lab on the blog.
